The target dies if the disease reduces its hit point maximum to 0. This reduction to the target’s hit point maximum lasts until the disease is cured.

Dust (2/day). The skulleton can use its crumbled remains to attack any creature that comes within 10 feet of it. The skulleton billows forth a cloud of dust that surrounds it in a 10-foot radius. All creatures in this area must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
